First and foremost, I think EVERY organization should have a MISSION and a VISION statement. This is especially true for organizations with large numbers of employees. A MISSION statement defines the organization’s business, its objectives, and how it will reach those objectives. A VISION statement details where the organization aspires to go. Employees need to understand the goals of the organization for which they are employed. This is why communication is so important. The leadership of a company must communicate often with its employees regarding the ongoing status in achieving the company’s mission as well as attaining its end vision.
As the sole proprietor of RichardBALDWIN.com, I have developed both a MISSION statement and a VISION statement that I will share with you at the end of this page. However, I must first provide you with some context before you read them. This is where my communication to you (the reader) comes in. I need to provide you with context so that you will better understand my approach in completing my MISSION and realizing my VISION. First, please watch the video below. It will provide you with some context into my methodology in meeting the goals of my mission and ultimately attaining the end results of my vision. Then I will discuss its relevance to my MISSION and VISION.

THE DEFINITION OF ECCENTRICITY
Norm Macdonald is perhaps one of my favorite comedians of all time. I was deeply saddened following his passing in 2021. They say the good die young. He was only 61 years old at the time of his passing. As noted above, many people considered his style of humor as eccentric. To me, however, his eccentricity is what made him unique and endearing as well as "the best" in his field. You never knew how he was going to deliver a punch line. You knew it was coming. You just did know how he was going to deliver it. In my humble opinion, he was a comedic genius and a master of his craft! Like David Letterman, I also considered Norm McDonald as "the best" of stand-up comedians.
The reason I shared with you the entire narrative about Norm McDonald above and his ECCENTRIC way of delivering punch lines is because some people think that I am eccentric as well. Many people describe me as ECCENTRIC because I typically do not follow the conventional pattern of delivering marketing messaging. To me, ECCENTRICITY is a STRENGTH, not a weakness. I develop unique engaging marketing content and messaging for companies and clients delivering it to consumers in an eccentric and unique way, leaving them with a desire to come back for more.
In perusing through my website, for example, you will find it heavily ladened with imagery of lions as well as laced with various clips of scenes from various movies. I use all these unique and eccentric ways to relay messaging to my audience.

Norman Gene Macdonald (October 17, 1959 – September 14, 2021) was a Canadian stand-up comedian, actor, and writer whose style was characterized by deadpan delivery, eccentric understatement, and the use of folksy, old-fashioned turns of phrase. He appeared in many films and was a regular guest on late-night talk shows, where he became known for his chaotic, yet understated style of comedy. He passed away on September 14, 2021, at the age of 61 due to complications from acute leukemia. Rest in Peace, Norm. You will be missed!
Many critics and fellow comedians praised his frequent appearances on talk shows, while late-night host David Letterman regarded him as "the best" of stand-up comedians. Dave Chappelle dedicated his Netflix special The Closer to the memory of Macdonald who died shortly before its release. Chappelle also opened his 2023 special The Dreamer crediting Macdonald with making him fall in love with comedy again.
