ESCAPING

My Escape From Linkedin Quitting LinkedIn Leaving LinkedIn Shawshank

PART I  (Decision To Leave)

The ONLY thing that made me unhappy was discovering that the LinkedIn Online Business Contact Management Application that I had trusted for so many years had been hijacked and converted into nothing more than another SOCIAL MEDIA PRISON PLATFORM, where everyone has been conditioned to be a follower with the need to post almost anything that pops into their head no matter how irrelevant or mundane it might be.  That kind of existence is not appealing for me.  In fact, it is down-right depressing.  So, I therefore planned my escape from LinkedIn Prison and then I executed my plan!

A Little Bit More About My Decision To Escape LinkedIn Prison

Over the years, I think everyone, including myself, slowly fell into this routine of checking our LinkedIn accounts on a daily basis.  I basically became a PRISONER within a PRISON of Low Self-Esteem Attention-Seeking BLOVIATORS and didn't even realize it . . . because it occurred so gradually over a long period of time.

Somehow, everyone I knew in the business world had been corralled together onto one network and then slowly conditioned to bloviate about mundane "everyone gets a trophy" accomplishments.

I began to think to myself . . . "If everyone is getting a trophy for showing up and everyone is bloviating and everyone is following everyone else on LinkedIn, then who is leading?"  Everyone that I ever knew in the business world had not only become entrapped into this same mundane routine, but they also became institutionalized posting empty platitudes and self-serving announcements of mundane dribble on a daily basis.  And it all happened gradually over several years without anyone, including myself, ever realizing it.

This reality occurred to me one day when I received a notification from LinkedIn that a past business acquaintance I knew had posted an announcement that he was eating a sandwich at a tradeshow which was the gist of his message.  Really?  Eating lunch at a tradeshow was so important that he needed to post it on LinkedIn?  What was next?  An announcement that he later visited the restroom at the tradeshow to relieve himself?  I mean . . . WTF?

BECOMING INSTITUTIONALIZED
ON LINKEDIN

"These prison walls are funny. First you hate 'em, then you get used to 'em. Enough time passes, you get so you depend on 'em. That's institutionalized."

-- Fellow LinkedIn Inmate: Ellis Boyd "Red" Redding

To those of you out there in LinkedIn Land who feel the need to post something on the platform every day in order satisfy your own ego or feel relevant, please keep this in mind . . . Not everyone works for YOUR company and they DON'T REALLY CARE what YOU or YOUR COMPANY are doing all the time.  They have their own lives.

EVERYTHING IS NOT AN ANECDOTE!  You have to discriminate. You choose things that are funny or mildly amusing or interesting.  Some of you that post on LinkedIn are miracles!  Your stories have NONE of that. They're not even amusing ACCIDENTALLY!  Oh, and by the way . . . when you're posting these little stories that you feel compelled to post . . . Here's a good idea . . . Have a POINT.  It makes it SO much more interesting for the reader!

Below Please Find My "R-Rated" Response To All Of You Constipated Attention-Seeking Low Self-Esteem Bloviators Of LinkedIn Prison

In the whole configuration of things, these constipated LinkedIn Bloviators who beg for people to follow them are all Full of Sh#t!  And when anyone clicks on their "Follow Me" link, the only thing that is fed is the bloviator's ego.  These bloviators do not post to help you.  They post to help themselves.  They are NARCISSISTIC and NEED you far MORE than you NEED them.  Do YOURSELF a favor . . . and UNFOLLOW them.  Be a Leader . . . both TO yourself and FOR yourself.  You don't need to follow anyone on LinkedIn.  Free yourself from all the daily crap these people put out.  You don't need it!

If you want to catch up with someone, how about giving them a call instead of pinging them on LinkedIn.   I'm sure they would appreciate simply hearing your voice live instead of an empty message of acknowledgment on Linkedin.

I don't need to follow anyone to be inspired AND I don't want anyone to follow me.  I have no need for that kind of attention or nonsense.  Simply put . . . I have no ego to feed.  I follow my own path.

MESSAGE TO ALL YOU LINKEDIN BLOVIATORS:  Please stop giving unsolicited advice to others.  And please stop asking for followers to feed your own ego.  What may work for you may not work for others.  And what may work for others may not work for you.  EVERYONE is DIFFERENT!  Everyone has different talents and attributes and their own path to take.  Some people are creative.  Some people are smart.  Some people have good looks.  Some people have good ideas.  Some people were born into money.  Some people worked hard to get what they have.  Some people were lucky.  Some people have close relationships with family.  Some people don't and rather have good relationships with friends.  Some have both.

MY POINT:  Every single individual is born under their own set of circimstances.  Everyone deals with different situations in their lives.  And quite frankly, they don't need advice from a constiptated low self-esteem attention-seeking bloviator that hasn't lived in their shoes. So please do everyone a favor . . . And go find something else to feed your own ego.

BIT COIN SCAMS & ASIAN MAIL ORDER BRIDES

And Oh, I would be remiss if I didn't mention some of the other LinkedIn requests I would receive  . . . I just loved receiving unsolicited connection requests from Asian Women who found my skills and experience "interesting and exciting" and thus wanted to "connect with an expert."

As an alternative to posting any mundane dribble at all (either about you or your company) to satisfy your own ego, you could do something that would probably be more appreciated and possibly more controversial . . . for which I define by using "profanitype" . . . and that would be to simply . . . "Shut the f#@k up!"  It is better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

Apparently, some IDIOT within my LinkedIn contact base must have given them access to all of their contacts and they ran thru them soliciting more connections.  From what I can ascertain, these Asian women were either seeking investors for their BitCoin Scams or offering themselves as "me love you long time" mail-order brides.

Caged Lion

I am generally a HAPPY LION.  But my membership with LinkedIn started to make me feel nothing more than a CAGED LION.  I initially added my contact information to LinkedIn in 2004 when it was just a simple business contact management application. Years later, this fledgling application began to evolve with the addition of new features.  I initially started to receive requests on a weekly basis to "follow" either "this" person or "that" person.  Requests then started coming in regularly on a daily basis.  Not only did LinkedIn become a daily routine, but it also started to be a drain on my time and energy.  I started to dread receiving messages from LinkedIn on my laptop.  Then it invaded my phone when the mobile app was added.  I became inundated daily by LinkedIn messaging.

Over the years, LinkedIn has evolved from what was once a simple and useful "business contact manager application" into a total "narcissistic ego-driven social media platform" where everyone follows, and no one leads.  And since I am not really much of a social media person, I really have no need to be on such a platform.

I've never had a Facebook account or a Twitter account.  I've never really needed one.  I am completely okay to manage a company's social media program on all of these sites.  I just don't have a need for them in my own personal life.  I am happy with my life.  I am happy with my family.  I am happy with my friends.  I am happy with my job.  I am happy with all of these things "in privacy" and I have no need or desire to post it out there daily for everyone to see to try to prove something to someone.  It's really sad and depressing to see.

LinkedIn Messages
LinkedIn Bloviators

But, that is not the only thing that prompted my escape from LinkedIn Prison.  Forget the DAILY BARRAGE OF NOTICES that have become standard for any prisoner of the LinkedIn Prison Platform today.  I used to receive as many as 50 LinkedIn Notfications Per Week from low self-esteem constipated bloviators all trying to prove their relevance . . .

LinkedIn Prisoner #1 “just posted new content”

LinkedIn Prisoner #2 “just posted. Review now.”

LinkedIn Prisoner #3 “shared a post”

LinkedIn Prisoner #3 “reshared a post”

LinkedIn Prisoner #4 “has a new post for you”

LinkedIn Prisoner #5 “and others share their thoughts on LinkedIn”

LinkedIn Prisoner #6 “just posted something that might be of interest to you”

LinkedIn Announcement 1: Congratulate "LinkedIn Prisoner #7" “for starting a new position” tarring the roof of the plate factory

LinkedIn Announcement 2: Add “LinkedIn Prisoner 8” to your network

LinkedIn Announcement 3: Follow these people who can inspire you at work:

LinkedIn Prisoner 9: CEO Bloviator of  ABC Company Number 1

LinkedIn Prisoner 10: CEO Bloviator of  XYZ Company Number 2

I never thought LinkedIn should have gone the social media route and allow its members to post anything about their political or religious views in the first place.  It's all a bunch of nonsense to me.  But if you are going to allow this, have some CONSISTENCYEither allow EVERY MEMBER to post their political views OR allow NO MEMBER to post their political views.  Don't dictate who can or who cannot post their opinions based on your collusion with whatever political party is in charge at the time.  As I said before, I would have never opened up LinkedIn to this kind of nonsense in the first place.  I liked the way LinkedIn was.  Why did they have to change it?  It was working just fine.

But they found out later.  The whole world found out later.  Even books with varying opinions were burned by the thousands by the party that was in charge in Germany.  We've already seen where this type of censorship leads. It boggles my mind to see just how many LinkedIn members have been conditioned & brainwashed to support this kind of anti free speech governance nonsense by LinkedIn.  I came to LinkedIn Prison in 2004.  I was one of the first inmates of that online platform and remained there for nearly 20 years.  It was simply time for me to escape from LINKEDIN PRISON!  So, I did!  I'm now free from all that nonsense!

Like I said, LINKEDIN has now become nothing more than another SOCIAL MEDIA PRISON INSTITUTION where EVERY member is an inmate, conditioned and brainwashed to celebrate MEDIOCRITY.  And since I am NOT a MEDIOCRE person, LinkedIn is not a place for me anymore.   I believe in EXCEPTIONALISM!  I believe in being the BEST of myself!  Nothing wrong with that!  And that is just another reason why it was time for me to leave LinkedIn.

My Escape From Linkedin Quitting LinkedIn Leaving LinkedIn Shawshank
LinkedIn is Anti Free Speech

This is where I finally drew the line and decided to ESCAPE from LINKEDIN prison.  I did not want to be part of a platform of low self-esteem bloviators where only members on one side of an issue are allowed to post anything.  When you have a publically-traded company like LinkedIn colluding with whatever political party is in charge at the time to shutdown free speech, there is a PROBLEM!  Don't say anything that conflicts with the the position of The State's Ministry of Truth (aka US Department of Homeland Security Disinformation Governance Board).  When you start to see other fellow LinkedIn members persecuted and shut down for offering an opinion that differs with the state, it's time to leave.  It’s ironic how LinkedIn officials shut down free speech all over the platform barring one political side from even posting a response on the platform.  If anyone’s “behavior” is to be compared to Nazism at all, it would be LinkedIn.  I watched LinkedIn and it's far-left members attack and shut down free speech of other members because of differing opinions.  This is exactly what happened in Germany.  The Nazi Party took control of all communication outlets restricting free speech.   When the citizens of Germany in WWII began to see their fellow neighbors rounded up and sent to Concentration Camps because their opinions and beliefs differed from those of the state, they had no idea where it would ultimately lead.

All that being said . . . I would like to SINCERELY THANK YOU for visiting my free-speech site!  THIS SITE is more of a place for ME to RELAX and CLEAR MY THOUGHTS.  And if you enjoy my writing, please feel free to stop by any time.  I will try to post something new each month that is fun, entertaining, interesting, and refreshing to read.  You will find it in the "MY TWO CENTS" page of my site.  It's the least I can do should you elect to devote some of your own personal time to visit my site each month.

Now since you have come this far in reading My Escape From LinkedIn (Part 1), I think you will find the SECOND PART of my ESCAPE STORY is more INTERESTING & FUN!  I promise you will really enjoy PART 2.  It includes some of the more interesting details about my HARROWING ESCAPE from LINKEDIN PRISON.  Click onto the link below to enjoy Part 2 . . .

My Escape From Linkedin Quitting LinkedIn Leaving LinkedIn Shawshank

LINKEDIN does NOT support FREE SPEECH.  They will allow mundane dribble as long as it does not conflict with their opinion, or the opinion of whatever current political party is in charge that controls them (THE STATE).  If your opinion differs from theirs, then you must be shut down!  It's that simple.  LINKEDIN is a PRISON.  There is no question about it.  And when you are in a PRISON, any communication you relay to the outside world will be monitored and screened no matter if it is a letter, a post, or whatever other format . . . just like it is now on LINKEDIN!  And that is an irrefutable fact!

To See . . .

The LinkedIn Redemption (Part 2)

There were plenty of other reasons why I decided to ESCAPE from LINKEDIN.  I am not even going to get into all the FANATICAL LINKEDIN MEMBERS posting their RADICAL FAR-LEFT POLITICAL VIEWS & OPINIONS on the LinkedIn site calling the members of the opposite party . . . NAZIs, RACISTs, MISOGYNISTs, RAPISTs, etc.  As for me, I've never posted anything on LinkedIn.  And I have never called anyone a "NAZI" because I disagreed with their politics.  I don't care to hear about your politics or religion.  And I know you don't want to hear about mine.  LinkedIn was initially built to have a place for fellow business colleagues to keep all of their business contacts organized and easily accessible online if needed . . . not for low self-esteem idiots to bloviate whatever is in their heads to satisfy their own egos.

FREE SPEECH is a precious right that WE ALL enjoy here in the United States under the U.S. Constitution!  It is what our FIRST AMENDMENT is all about!  A lot of U.S. Citizens have given their lives to protect that right and to pass it down to the next generation of citizens for safekeeping.  It is one of the reasons we declared Independence from another past government that was anti-free speech!  Our First Amendment is a statement of our belief in the rights of the individual to be independent and to say whatever he or she wants to say without being rousted or persecuted by the state!
